Design Studio 1
Project 1
Self Expression Through Object
Task:
To produce an artwork or art form as a creative representation of the self, using any medium of choice.
Reflections:
The learning outcomes intended were to
redefined through the process of translation and interpretation
This assignment enabled me to generate ideas and abstract concepts for design. It also helped me explore various approaches to design thinking and production.
Project 2
Me in Space
Task:
Produce a 1:1 installation that encompasses a space and evokes the representative spatial quality. This is a cardboard installation that measures up to a volume of no more than 1.5mx1.5mx2m.
On an A3 panel, explain the design process and final installation.
PROGRESS MODEL
Reflections:
The learning outcomes intended for this project are:
This task enabled me to create and develop a conceptual narrative based on my interpretation of the self.It also created an awareness of scale and proportion of the human body in relation to form and space.I managed to understand the basic design principles and terminologies.
Project 3
My City Dream Space
Group:
Task:
Produce a site model of the given movie "FIFTH ELEMENT".Select a city scene that you would use to place your individual hideout.
SITE MODEL
Individual:
Task:
Design a hideout space for yourself by engaging it to the walls of an imagined “city” on an empty abandoned plot. The design should be inspired by your personal understanding and perception of a hideout that best fits your individuality.
Final Design and Panel
Reflections:
the learning outcomes intended were:
-Be able to identify, articulate and apply basic design principles in spatial organisation and
relationships
This assignment gave me a chance to explore myself once again and to come up with a design of my own that fits my personality.I was able to distinguish scale and proportion in relation to the designed space.I managed to apply my building materials techniques to enhance the sensory experience of my space.

The learning outcomes intended were to
-Identify and abstract theme/ideas
of the ‘self’
