TASK: We were assigned to measure and document a historical / heritage building and translate all the data into a set of drawings,and a model. Along with the drawings and model,an analysis report and photobook were to be submitted too,in order to complete the project.For the presentation,a website and video were also required. Along with the measured data and recordings,we had to individually produce 20 sketches of the building.The sketches were to show physical and intangible qualities and characteristics of the building. REFLECTIONS: Completing this assignment helped me to undertake the responsibility of producing accurate drawings which could be used in the future. INDIVIDUAL EXERCISES Based on shape rules taught in class,we were asked to complete a batch of exercises to show our understanding of the rules learnt. PROJECT 1 This is a group project where each group is required to find a natural or man-made element surrounding them that they believe having some underlying design principles. Then, facilitated by the tutor the group should analyse the design principles and translate them into shape rules. Next, the group shall use the newly established rules to create new and original façade designs for any chosen block in Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus. Form a group of 2 students.
